Our Members

Peekskill Community Volunteer Ambulance Corps is always accepting applications for new members. We are looking for community oriented individuals who are looking to give back to the Peekskill community by being there for individuals when they need emergency services.

All our PCVAC members make up the following groups:

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) - Individuals who are currently certified as a New York State Emergency Medical Technician and have demonstrated the ability to respond to 911 emergency calls.
EMT must have:
  • Up to date NYSDOH Certification
  • Up to date CPR Certification can be provided by PCVAC
  • Valid and Clean Drivers License

Emergency Medical Drivers - Individuals who are at least 18 years or older, who are trained to drive emergency vehicles during 911 emergency calls.
EMD must have:
  • Valid and Clean NYS Drivers License
  • Training provided by PCVAC officers and/or driver trainers
  • Clearance to drive by PCVAC officers and/or driver trainers

Attendants - Individuals who are at least 18 years or older. Attendants serve as auxiliary for the emergency response crews. Most of our new members start out as attendants. Attendants are able to ride with the emergency response crews and get valuable riding experience which can help before or while they are becoming an emergency medical technician.
Attendants must:
  • CPR Certification which can be provided at PCVAC

Youth Corps - Individuals who are between the ages of 16-17. These individuals are just like attendants with a limitation in hours on duty per week. Youth Corps are encouraged to participate in all training sessions and are able to ride along side emergency response crews on 911 emergency calls. Youth Corps are a valuable asset to our cause.
Youth Corps must have:
  • Written Permission from Parent or Guardian
  • CPR Certification which can be provided at PCVAC
